形態特徵

Evergreen trees with grayish-brown bark; branchlets slender.
Leaves oblong to obovate, 6–10 cm long, 2–3.3 cm broad, acuminate to caudate at apex, cuneate to obtuse at base, serrate from middle toward apex, lateral veins ca. 7 pairs, often stellate-hairy at base; petioles 0.9–1.1 cm long.
Staminate flowers 3.5 mm long, 2 mm broad; perianth 6-lobed, 3.5 mm long, 2 mm broad; stamens 12, anthers 0.4 mm long. Pistillate flowers 4.5 mm long, 3 mm across; perianth 6-lobed; ovary 3–5-celled, with 3–5 styles.
Cupules sessile, shallowly dish-shaped, 0.7–1.1 cm long, 2.3–3.2 cm across, with imbricate, tomentose, triangular scales;nuts very depressed rounded or dome-shaped, 1.8–2.4 cm long, 2.3–3.3 cm across.

物候

Staminate flowers blooming from March to July; fruits maturing from Auguest to October.

分布

台灣 : At altitudes of 500–700 m in the central, southern and eastern parts of Taiwan.
